by Glenda Reynolds
Women carrying spicesBowed low before the angelsThe Lord was not there. Why look in a tombFor the living among dead? He’s come back to life!Messiah would beBetrayed, crucified, and thenThe third day risen.Peter ran there tooSeeing folded linen wrapsOnly wonderings.Journey to EmmausTwo talk about Jesus’ deathSuddenly He’s there. Then unrecognizedHe quoted prophets’ writingsTelling of Himself.Joining for dinnerJesus blessed and broke the breadThen He disappeared.Their hearts strangely warmHearing scriptures on the roadRan to tell others.Disciples waitingThe Lord suddenly appearedSee His hands and feet. The writings of PsalmsAnd Prophets must all come trueThen they understood.Written that MessiahSuffer, die, then rise third daySalvation to nations.Hands high, He blessed themRising into the sky andOnward to heaven. All filled with mighty joyWorshipped and served the great GodContinued praising.
